New single 'Lost and Alone'

London-based French singer-songwriter Edna Louise shares her new single ‘Lost and Alone’, out everywhere now.

Naming artists like Jamiroquai, Joss Stone and Jorja Smith as her main influences, Edna draws from her combined inspirations to create her own distinctive neo-soul/pop sound. Working with London-based producer Tony Sage (Celine Love, Cindy BB), the track features a lush, atmospheric production that perfectly complements Edna captivating vocals and her ability to weave together soulful melodies with poignant lyrics. Showcasing her prowess as a songwriter, the track explores the complexities of family dynamics.

Speaking of the track, she says, “This track is all about the importance of recognising and addressing toxic family dynamics. I got back from what was supposed to be a holiday at my parents, and felt even more drained than actually being on my own in London.. I left home when I was 18yo to study and realised, every time I was going back there, all the toxic dynamics of my family and how I would not fit in this context anymore.

Cherishing our family shouldn’t be at the expense of our own happiness/sanity. If toxicity is present, then taking some distance becomes necessary. I hope the track can provide comfort and healing to anyone who needs it."

Originally from Nice in the French Riviera, Edna grew up surrounded by music. A singer, songwriter and guitarist, she was raised listening to everything from Brazilian music to Disco/Funk, Rock‘n’Roll and Soul. Edna saw HYLEEN, a neo-soul artist also from the French Riviera, perform in Monaco and that was her moment of realisation that she wanted to create soul and jazz inspired music. Moving to London shortly after and experiencing London’s rich music scene, she fell in love with the genre even more.

Studying at BIMM London, Edna quickly put together a band composed of Francisco Parada (guitar), Loucas Papa (drums), Davide Di Camillo (bass) and Tony Sage (keys) and has performed in renown venues such as Notting Hill Art Club, The Ned and Zebrano Bars.

‘Lost and Alone’ is the first track from her upcoming debut EP, set for release later this year.
